As regular readers will know, I am off to my favourite hotel, the Anantara, in Hua Hin, Thailand in three weeks time with my good Australian doctor friend Michael Long. When I was last there I promised the Hotel Director that I would try to include a small video, on this blog, to show the world what a beautiful place it was. Thanks to another good friend, Monty, who made the superb DVD of the Athenaeum Dinner, this video has now been made, for tips on film taken by me over the years, and will shortly be included under the Video section, The Beautiful Anantara, Hua Hin, Thailand. Do look at it yourself and you will realise that I was not exaggerating.

    Mark,
    You are an inspiration.
Your trials & tribulations are so brave.
    Your humour so funny.
Your journey and its record so very very special.
You have been an inspiration to me and I’m sure many others.
I would not have heard of you unless by reading the Daily Telegraph report.
I wish you every happiness & lots of laughter.
    Love,
    John

John.thank you for your extremely generous comments. I’m so glad you said what you did at the The Daily Telegraph. If you read the most recent entry in blog you will see why I was sceptical about having any further contact with the media after the treatment I received in the of the Cambridge News.one such content as your own makes the whole thing worthwhile.
Many thanks and best wishes to you.

Thanks to the D.T., I have discovered your Blog.
I reside in Finchingfield, work in the former Soviet Union, and also live with a PC diagnosis.

Your truthful comments and experiences of PC are more helpful to me than numerous interviews with members of the medical profession.
Good luck on the Thai trip, and bring back some orchids to Saffron Walden.

    • DMC says:

Thanks, Derek. I do so agree about the medical profession although I must admit my own team at Addenbrookes are wonderful, although I have had to discover many things for myself or invent ways of coping with daily living.

You can be sure I shall enjoy the Thai trip, although it is precisely the ‘tripping’, as I did twice on the stairs recently, that concerns me.

      My very best wishes.

Professor Cato, please don’t be too surprised if I tell you I am a Chinese student in Beijing, who read the report of your blog in the paper. From your blog, I can see it as a very effective way to connect so many people around the world. I sincerely hope you can re-visit China soon, and I wish you all the best in your life! Please do take care.

      Dear ZhuHai

It is not so strange that I hear from another Chinese student. Having taught there for nearly 10 years I consider the Chinese students are the best and most hard working in the world. It is a privilege to inspire even one person and I wish you every success in the year of the Tiger.

      Best wishes

      Prof Mark
