My good friend Duncan (Rix) came out today and set up my new AbilityNet computer and tidied up the whole system for me. He did a great job. Obviously the new computer is faster and more up-to-date than my old Toshiba. I have been given the latest version of Dragon Naturally -which should enable me […]

I decided to walk no more than 15 holes with the geriatrics today in the hope that when it came to lunch I would not be too exhausted to feed myself. I did indeed manage without assistance. Whether that was due to the shorter walk  I know not. I do know that I was surprised […]

I spent the morning at PC World assisting Ron Bingley to select a PC and printer.  We bought what I hope was a pretty good package for around  £450. Certainly the PC is 10 times the size of my laptop, i.e. 320 gigs, far more than he will  ever need.

Chloe and family came down for lunch today.  Sadly it was wet and chilly but Chloe, Lara and Set it off went, with Alice,  to the Henry Moore  exhibition at  Saffron Walden Museum, which, apparently, was a great success, as it was child orientated.  The little ones came back with various fossils of some millions […]

To while away the journey to London, yesterday,  I started a new book that my good friend, Dr. Michael Long had sent to me – Tuesdays with Morrie – I finished it this morning. At first sight a strange choice as it charts the death, through MND, of an old professor, the medical side albeit […]

I went to London today to deliver the  antique engraved eggcup, spoon  and napkin ring which I had  bought for Baxter Alexander – Karyl and Monti’s three month old, handsome offspring – as a totally inadequate ‘thank you’ to both of them for their kindness, in a variety of directions over the years. The journey […]

My lovely and I attended the annual dinner of the Society of Construction Arbitrators to which I was invited as a guest, no doubt, by the president, John Tackaberry QC, who is the vice president the Arbitration Club.  The dinner was held in the Armourers Hall, in the City – what an amazing setting.  A […]

I wore my specially designed thermal wrap round drawers, made for me dear Janet Bingley, under my kilt for my weekly walk around the golf course. They were very effective and I’m delighted with them.  Although I did have elect the assistance of a club member to adjust them after I had been to the […]

The new lap top and software, supplied by the generosity of AbilityNet, arrive today.  Hopefully, I will not have to wait too long for someone to come and install it and give me the half day instruction which has been offered.  In anticipation of this new installation I have now given away my old PC […]

Visit today to Addenbrookes Hospital to see Maggie the occupational therapist for some different wrist supports to assist me to hold my cutlery has my left hand has become very weak.  Bill and Paul came to do a few odd jobs and amongst other things stuck my rubber (wicket gloves) pimpled material (provided by my […]
